Kitchen Tools

Most of the tools I use when cooking at home are very basic. Knives, wooden spoons, measuring cups. If I use anything special for a recipe I’ll post about it here. There won’t be much you don’t already have, but there are a few less common little gems I just can’t live without.

First up – a Microplane. It’s easy to use and is great for zesting citrus fruit and finely grating cheese. They’ll run you about 25$ and you’ll never look back. Don’t use the weird side of that box grater ever again, please!

The japanese mandoline (benriner) is a great tool for slicing and julienning fruit and veggies. Costs around $30. I use mine every time I make a salad or slaw. Super handy.
